We like it when people mess around with traditional pieces. When we say mess around we mean tweak because it seems like too often people try to reinvent the wheel with what’s classic. A perfect example of a good tweak is Gucci’s Suede Moccasin. Part boat shoe, part moccasin, and part sneaker, this shoe takes tradition and throws together some of its finest parts. Gucci’s trademark horsebit goes perfectly with the rubber sneaker sole and the blue suede is the perfect color for this hybrid shoe. You can wear them with shorts, khakis, jeans, or a suit. Smart simple lines characterize the design, separating this shoe from other hybrid designs (think Kanye for Louis Vuitton). We look forward to seeing more hybrid shoes with classic characteristics and commend Gucci on finding the right type of balance. Sure, they’ll run you a pretty penny, but if you can wear them with nearly anything, maybe they’re a better investment then you previously thought. Get them at Neiman Marcus for $420 here.
