What do you do Throw it away Not when it is a silk scarf and you know how beautifully silk dies and what a wonderful opportunity this would be to experiment.

This scarf began as a simple two faced broken twill stripe. I think the original warp was white with stripes of ikat which just somehow didn’t look right when I was done. So I decided to overdye it. The idea of cross stripes came to mind and I gathered it across the scarf with ikat tape, overdyed it with Procion MX dye using a dark brown. I can see where there might have been ikat streaks and overall I was happy with the result.
