Knitting Daily Lace Scarf

It is a really fun, fast knit & crochet.
The center is knit in Rowan’s Kidsilk Haze, only 27 stitches so it goes quickly, and then you crochet the edge in Blue Sky Alpaca Silk. Beautiful and so fun to make!
This is a great last minute (8-12 hours depending on your skill level) gift too.

Self confessed trainer addict (and producer/DJ) Mark Ronson is collaborating with Gucci to design limited edition trainers for their new concept ‘Gucci Icon – Temporary’.

‘Gucci Icon – Temporary’ has been created by Gucci’s creative Director Frida Giannini. It is a ‘pop-up’ trainer store that is set to travel the world stopping in locations such as Paris, London, New York, Tokyo and Berlin, remaining in each city for just a few weeks.

The store will stock all 18 of the Gucci/Ronson trainer designs, 16 for men, 2 for women, which were inspired by each of the cities due to be visited.

Gucci’s iconic GG logo and famous red and green stripe has been incorporated by Frida Giannini in the new trainer designs. It will be interesting to see Ronson’s contribution.

‘I spent many, many years as an avid sneaker collector, so I wanted to make sure these Gucci shoes were truly special from an aesthetic and collectable point of view,’ he commented to –

Finally. I had the chance to pull that tsumugi silk off the shelf and weave something from it. The DH’s birthday was on Friday and I wove a silk scarf for him… not prissy, not fussy. This silk is raw and slubby… a little rough and weathered. I guess, like him.

Richard’s birthday scarf.

The scarf is woven from four different colours (charcoal, dark navy, oatmeal, espresso) in a stripe pattern. I just randomly designed this on the warping board, sometimes running two colours together at the same time to create a more blended effect. A simple two-yard warp x approximately 200 ends, set at 20 epi and woven in a 2×2 twill pattern.

Cotton warp on the Klik loom now.

Now that the silk scarf is off the loom, I’ve put on my most favourite warp… the cotton warp dyed in procion. This, I’m looking forward to seeing.

Everyday hundreds of bags listed on Handbag Outlets Online are sold. the Coach Bag outlet is a great site to buy coach handbags and other coach stuff from. the prices you can get at the coach handbag outlet are so much lower than retail stores and even coach factory outlet stores. Designer Handbag Outlet is your first stop for authentic designer handbags at discount handbag prices. One of the most amazing coach handbag outlet stores that you will find online and the best customer support you will ever be able to use. Unfortunately, the Coach Handbag Outlet store that my friend took me to is a few hours drive from me, which isn’t convenient. A Coach Handbag Outlet is where you will find the most trendy Coach handbags in the latest unique designs and colors. Handbags purchased from a Coach handbag outlet are no different then what you would find in a high end store.

Designer

To browse every handbag for sale within Designers Handbag Outlet, you can either choose from the left navigation bar or enter specific keywords in the search box above. Its a good idea to be aware that there are hardly any companies in the world that actually distribute real designer handbags.

Welcome to Manteaus Daily. Manteaus are glamorous and rebellious tight body-hugging coats or tunics or shirt dresses. They are a distinctly European outfit, based on the British and French trench coat. However, in the last 5 years, they have become a Middle Eastern, specifically Iranian/Persian, symbol of freedom, love for democracy, and the proud and defiant desire of women to represent themselves as fully sexual human beings.

As a young woman who has experienced life in a dictatorial country (in Europe, not in the Middle East, but still) up close and is proud to have lived in a free Western country for most of her life, I simply adore looking at this fashion and love to express the ideas behind it through my own style. I love ANY defiant fashion- my three major influences are L.A. San Fernando Valley sexual culture (my inspiration #1 is Jenna Jameson after all!), NYC hip-hop culture, and of course, the manteau culture. I own about 20 different types of manteaus, all bought here.

This blog is the only place where those who love to wear this fashion or to look at women that do can get their fix.? I may also post some pics of myself wearing my own version of this fashion (mine is even more tight fitting than the Persian style, involves the wearing of low baseball caps with scarves on shoulders rather than scarves on the head OR wearing a hood or snood pushed back on the head, and is much more hip-hop influenced).

Almost every day I will post a picture from my huge collection of manteau style photos. I’d love to post some of my own manteau pics up here, but I will have to blur the face out, for privacy reasons (not because I’m afraid of men, but because I don’t want anti-manteau, anti-woman fanatics knowing what I look like! I love it when men look at me, especially my boyfriend! :-)

Enjoy Manteaus Daily? and please show your support for all Western values-seeking movements worldwide!

probably should have been the name of my blog.

I am Sasha Fierce Rebecca Bloomwood! I wore my Louis Vuitton scarf to the movie. I’m the girl in the green scarf! And I work in financial news.

Aside from the unavoidable parallels to my life, I noticed several things (as in items!) in the movie. Read the breakdown of some of Rebecca’s outfits that I posted earlier here.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Dante West is supposed to be Conde Nast, but it was actually shot in the Hearst Magazines building.

Leslie Bibb, who plays Alicia in the movie, was Brooke McQueen on Popular on the WB from 1999-2001. I love her! I used to be totally obsessed with that show. It was before a lot of people had cell phones, so if people would call for me during the show I would get totally pissed and have my mom tell them I wasn’t home. I wanted my hair to look just like hers and I almost died when she had this light pink suede jacket and cropped pants I wanted?from the Gap.

Stephen Guarino, the secretary at Dante West, was Vincent, the art teacher in The Clique movie! He’s too funny. I love him.

Anyway. Handbag sightings:

On the rack of clothes at Alette, you could see Valentino’s rosette tote in pink/red. So gorgey! Want it. Have BEEN wanting it for like? year. It originally retailed for $1950.

valentino-rosette-tote

THEN Alicia came out and for a hot minute you could see her carrying the black Valentino Maison studded tote in black, which retails for $2495.

When Rebecca and Alette were shopping at Barney’s, I thought Alette was carrying the Burberry Alligator hobo for a minute (it retailed for $22,000!) but that wasn’t it.

Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella is an enjoyable book series if you’re looking for a great read. I wonder if there will be a sequel to the movie!
